About the Organization & Community Impact

Rise Thrift is part of Rise, a nonprofit social-service organization serving the Hightstown and East Windsor area and surrounding communities. Rise describes its thrift operation as a way to provide affordable goods while returning store revenue to community programs; the organization also operates a major food pantry and other services for local households. The reuse model therefore has several benefits: donated clothing and household items are kept out of the waste stream, shoppers can obtain necessities at lower cost, and the value generated by resale helps support broader assistance work. For estate donors, suitable personal property can become a resource for another household while contributing to an organization focused on food access, basic needs and community stability.
