About the Organization & Community Impact
Thrift Works is more than a resale boutique: it also functions as a retail training center for young people enrolled in The Work Group’s New Jersey Youth Corps program. Funds raised through the store support education and training opportunities for at-risk youth, while participants gain real-world experience in retail operations as they prepare to enter the workforce. The Work Group’s broader mission is to help young adults develop the skills, education and confidence needed to become self-directed and self-sufficient. Donated clothing therefore supports both reuse and workforce development. For estate donors, that means saleable apparel can become affordable merchandise for shoppers while also helping fund and provide hands-on training for young people making the transition to employment and adulthood.
Save a trip! Call Thrift Works first to confirm hours and that they are accepting what you’re bringing.
