About the Organization & Community Impact
FISH Inc. – Dunellen Area is an all-volunteer nonprofit founded in 1969 to respond compassionately to people who are less fortunate, elderly, homeless or otherwise fall between the gaps of public assistance. Its food and clothing programs provide direct basic-needs support rather than operating primarily as a resale business. Clothing donations are sorted for use through the organization’s clothing room, where they can help individuals and families who need wearable essentials. For estate donors, that creates a direct community benefit: usable clothing can move from a household cleanout into a local charitable distribution system while supporting an organization that also addresses hunger and other immediate needs. FISH’s model is rooted in volunteer service and practical assistance to neighbors in the Dunellen-area community.
