About the Organization & Community Impact

The Nest is operated by Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children, a Paterson nonprofit whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty through programs that feed, clothe, educate and empower women and children. Oasis states that all thrift-store sales revenue flows directly back into its social-service programs. The store also serves the community by making good-quality clothing available at affordable prices and by introducing shoppers to Oasis services such as education, counseling, meals, emergency food and basic-needs support. For estate donors, accepted clothing and accessories therefore have a dual impact: they become accessible secondhand goods for local families and generate revenue for a broader network of anti-poverty programs serving women and children in Paterson.
