About the Organization & Community Impact
VIM Thrift supports Volunteers in Medicine of South Jersey, a nonprofit clinic providing free healthcare services to neighbors in need. The thrift stores are an important operating resource for the clinic: the organization reports that store activity helps cover roughly one-third of clinic expenses, and proceeds are directed to support the healthcare mission. Donated clothing, accessories, household goods and other accepted items therefore become affordable resale inventory while generating funds for free medical services. For estate donors, this creates a clear connection between reuse and community health: good-quality belongings stay in circulation, shoppers gain access to reasonably priced merchandise, and the remaining value of estate property helps sustain care for people who otherwise may have limited access to healthcare.
